Every year, a group of my friends and I head to Ev Every year, a group of my friends and I head to Evans Head, a little coastal town on the Northern NSW coast. It’s my favourite time of year and I’m so grateful to them for introducing me to this beautiful part of Australia. It’s a town that feels wonderfully untouched by time, with mid-century beach shacks, an old-school milk bar and a proper Australian pub. This year, though, I found myself becoming increasingly nostalgic. We made trips to the local ice cream shop and milk bar, headed to the beach for a surf, and spent one day doing nothing but hanging out by the river while the kids went stand-up paddle boarding. We even played a round of lawn bowls and battled it out at the RSL Trivia night. 😆 And other days I was relaxing at the beach house, listening to my Evans Head playlist I made for us all, which was full of the best 80’s songs and a touch of John Farnham. It really does feel like time stands still there. I hope this little collection of photos I took inspires you, as it has me, to slow down, enjoy our days and our homes, and stop to smell the roses with the people you love. P.S. The last slide was my son’s first ever time catching a wave the first year we went! It is still one of my favourite videos of all time.

Styling two shoots for Castlery, across the homes of two of the loveliest, most down-to-earth local Sunshine Coast creatives. We spent two very big (and very creative!) days styling the campaign and editorial imagery for Castlery. Across both homes, we brought together a huge collection of props, styling elements and ideas, layering colour, texture and playful details around each homeowner’s carefully selected Castlery pieces. And today we get to share a look at our first Castlery shoot with @hannahbeaden! And with Jules’ beautiful garden just beyond, this little corner of the home felt like such a natural extension of the way she lives. “Styling that sings.” That was the inspiration I “Styling that sings.” That was the inspiration I gave myself when I started dreaming and planning the styling for @brookestyles’ new book photography. Brooke is every bit as fun, positive and whimsical in real life as she is online, so it was important to me that we captured that in the styling. And it needed to complement her existing style and the amazing projects she had created for her book. Over the four days, we had so much fun styling so many different sets for the shoot.
