Welcome to Wholehearted Studio 🤎 It’s not an easy Welcome to Wholehearted Studio 🤎

It’s not an easy task, distilling nearly 14 years of creative work, process and brand evolution into a short video that authentically captures what we do. But here goes.

We’re a Sunshine Coast-based creative direction and styling studio, working with businesses, creatives and wholehearted people across Southeast Queensland and Australia.

We thoughtfully curate beautiful photo shoots, campaigns and interior projects, bringing each one to life with personalised creativity.

With experience styling for some of Australia’s most well-known magazines, independent brands and makers, as well as homeowners, we bring what we believe is a pretty comprehensive toolkit of experience to every project. From developing the creative direction and styling the details to writing campaigns and styling whole homes.

At the end of the day, we don’t exist just to make things look beautiful. Our goal is always to help people show up as the most wholehearted version of themselves.
You’d be forgiven for thinking we only work on cot You’d be forgiven for thinking we only work on cottage-style homes if you’ve been following along here lately!

But the truth is, we really love working on contemporary homes, too. There’s something lovely about the blank canvas of a newer home and the opportunity to bring it to life through thoughtful styling, colour, texture and those special finishing touches.

For this project, we layered the home’s contemporary architecture with art, furniture, and a mix of unique handmade, vintage and new objects to create a warm aesthetic. We also got to work with some amazing Australian makers and brands, which, as you know, I absolutely love supporting.

Here’s a closer look at the Rosalie Project, developed and built by our client @zone1projects, which was recently featured in @thelocalproject. Their most recently completed build also took home the Individual Home category at the Master Builders Brisbane Awards too!

Some favourite daytime photos from this weekend; s Some favourite daytime photos from this weekend; spent with my best friend of 26 years!

I also got to see her new home, which has left me wanting to come home and rearrange absolutely everything in mine. Lol. Then we did our favourite thing to do together, which is visit antique stores around Brisbane. There was so much to see!

We have a big week ahead with some big shoots to plan, houses to visit, and all the creative direction and styling work we do for our inner circle clients who we work for every month. But after a lovely weekend away, I’m feeling inspired and ready to get stuck into it all.
Castlery’s latest summer campaign was a special on Castlery’s latest summer campaign was a special one for us.

When we style a shoot, our creative focus is usually on one home at a time; exploring its spaces, layers and unique personality through a series of settings within the home. It’s not often we’re given the opportunity to take that same creative direction and styling approach across two entirely different personal homes.

For this campaign, we spent two consecutive days working across the homes of two local creatives, @hannahbeaden and @jaharnquinn, bringing their individual spaces and carefully selected Castlery pieces to life through campaign and editorial imagery.

Working on location at Brooke and her husband Jake’s property for this shoot was such a full and fun week! Styling projects and vignettes to create editorial-style imagery for the entire book was a huge undertaking, but seeing it all come together in print makes every bit of the hard work worth it.

A Year of Making by Brooke Styles is available for pre-order now!

Wholehearted Artist in Residence – Lauren Horton Wholehearted Artist in Residence – Lauren Horton

We’ve been lucky enough to spend time basking in the creativity of artist Lauren Horton this year, welcoming her into the studio for a few Artist in Residence days. On one of those days, Lauren and I shook things up a little and worked together from my home studio instead.

Lauren was also the artist we featured in our recent shoot for @saltliving. I introduced Lauren and Salt Living, and it’s been so lovely to see the connection continue, with Salt now sharing a very special interview with @bylaurenhorton on their Journal.

Head on over to Salt Living to read the interview and get to know a little more about Lauren and her beautiful work. 🤎
