Would you believe I sourced 95% of our studio make Would you believe I sourced 95% of our studio makeover second-hand? It's a common belief that by shopping second-hand you'll be sacrificing on style, but that is a HUGE misconception!

By shopping and sourcing second-hand via places like Marketplace, op-shops and tip shops, Gumtree, or even just the side of the road, you're often able to find character-filled pieces that are usually better quality at a fraction of the price.

It's of course a bit more of a hunt and can take more time than just popping down to your closest retail stores, but it makes finding the perfect pieces all the more satisfying.

Styling this space for this feature was a joy, as Jesse and Alastair's home was already brimming with creativity and personal charm.

This viewpoint would have to be one of our favourites, encapsulating so many features in one shot—such as the heritage brick, floor to ceiling windows, and the industrial sliding door.

Recently, I stumbled across a collection of vintag Recently, I stumbled across a collection of vintage @homebeautiful magazines from the 1960s and 70s—and what a treat. I bought them of course!

Each issue is a beautiful time capsule, capturing where Australian design has come from and just how far it’s evolved. But what struck me most was the reminder of how many Australian-made pieces once filled our homes... and how few remain on the market today.

On a brighter note—these mags were the original influencers.

💌 “Special offer record case for $4.25” (less than a small coffee now!)
💌 “Stereo – the living sound of music”
💌 Fun with felts and fabrics
💌 Native gardens (still trending now!)
💌 A 130-year-old Sydney cottage reno (now it would be a grand 185 years old)
💌 Floral tiles, colour, arches galore
💌 Fine-cut French crystal from 85c a glass
💌 “Hold it! Before you invest in a new home… does it have a cast iron bathtub?”
💌 Wall-to-wall carpet for romantics on a budget
💌 Concrete slabs—the modern way to build

Issue: May 1969
Still relevant, still fabulous.

Some sound life advice from the *wise philosopher* Some sound life advice from the *wise philosopher* Ferris Bueller. The possibilities are endless... dream a little bigger and sometimes say no! 🤎

(BTW, for those who are too young to know about Ferris Bueller or why this song teams-with-the-theme you should add it to your must watch list!)

In other news, you all voted over on stories this week for the style of music you’d like on here and vintage vibey songs won!

So rest assumed we’re working on a playlist the Doobie Brothers would have envied. Time to bring some fun to the feed!
